The facilities, which required an $8.7-million investment, include a laboratory and a new 100,000-square-foot plant. They will allow the company to triple its production capacity and produce high-end insulating gloves for the North American market.

Cicame Énergie specializes in products used in energy transmission networks, overhead and underground distribution networks, and electrical safety and security. It is a subsidiary of the French company Sicame Group, which manufactures accessories for high-voltage lines and electricity distribution, operates in 17 countries and sells its products in 120 countries.

The Cicame Énergie plant in Saint-Hubert, which was granted a non-refundable contribution of $825,000 from Investissement Québec and of $157,000 from the Ministère du Développement économique, de l'Innovation et de l'Exportation for this expansion project, will create 30 new jobs and become Sicame Group's largest North American facility.
