Financing of refundable tax creditsBusinesses can obtain a loan guarantee or a loan so they can enhance their liquidity.
UNIQ FinancingWe can provide you with a loan, a loan guarantee or quasi-equity financing to help you continue to grow in Québec. UNIQ Financing comprises two components, depending on the nature of your project:

If your company has specialized operations or establishes itself in a certain region of Québec, you may be eligible for one of the following tax credits.

Aluminum ValleyEligible companies with aluminum manufacturing or processing operations (finished or semi-finished products) in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region can obtain a tax credit until December 31, 2015.
Gaspésie Region and Certain Maritime RegionsThe Québec government grants eligible companies a tax credit until December 31, 2015, to encourage job creation and in certain maritime regions including the Bas-Saint-Laurent, Côte-Nord and Gaspésie—Iles-de-la-Madeleine.
Production of Multimedia TitlesEligible companies producing multimedia titles in facilities located in Québec can get a refundable tax credit.
Biotechnology Development Centre (CDB)This tax measure aims to promote groupings of biotechnology firms in buildings with facilities adapted to their needs, and in turn encouraging creation of science & technology clusters with a view to maximizing synergies and collaborations.
Development of e-businessThis tax measure is designed to consolidate the development of information technology (IT) throughout Québec. Eligible companies can receive a refundable tax credit until December 31, 2015.

Regional Economic Intervention Fund (FIER)This is a CDN$408 million fund established by the Québec government and partners aimed at facilitating access to venture capital in all of Québec's regions and thus support businesses in the start-up and development stages. Other government programs can assist companies:
Emploi-Québec Employment AssistanceFinancial assistance provided by Emploi-Québec, jointly with administrations in Québec's regions, in order to share of the cost of training and recruitment of the employees needed for project first stage development.
Feasibility Study of an Investment ProjectFinancial contribution to companies that want to carry out an investment project in Québec. The program is administered by the Québec government's Ministry for Economic Development, Innovation and Exports and can cover up to 40% of the fees of experts to carry out feasibility studies to a maximum grant of CDN$100,000. Eligible activity sectors are manufacturing, recycling, business services, industrial research and development, and scientific services.
Industrial Research Assistance ProgramShared-cost financial assistance tied to research and development of technical projects at the pre-competitive stage. This National Research Council program is available to Canadian SMBs; i.e., companies with fewer than 500 employees.
Strategic Aerospace and Defence Initiative (SADI)This Industry Canada initiative launched in April 2007 encourages industrial research and pre-competitive development for the private sector in the Canadian aerospace, defence, security and space sectors, through repayable contributions (generally 30% of eligible costs). |
