Galderma Upgrades Baie-D’Urfé Facility
Another major investment has confirmed the importance of Montréal as an industrial hub in the pharmaceutical sector. Galderma, a global pharmaceutical company that develops, manufactures and markets dermatological products, will invest $38 million in upgrading and expanding its Baie-D’Urfé plant.

Rio Tinto Alcan to Invest $7.6M
Rio Tinto Alcan has announced a US$7.6 million investment in its Beauharnois facility near Montréal. The aim is to maintain casting production here to serve the aluminum primary foundry market. The renovated facility will employ 35 people and help the company continue its leadership in the North American market as it draws on its technical expertise and solid supply network.

The manager of the Owens Corning plant in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Hector Bianchini, relied on employee training to successfully carry out a major upgrade.
Companies whose employees need training to carry out their work and keep their jobs can count on assistance from Emploi-Québec. Thanks to its manpower training initiative, projects that result in new training needs qualify for reimbursement of a share of the costs of setting up a training plan.
