Through Investissement Québec, the Québec government has granted a
$1 million financial contribution and a $7.5-million loan to assist with the completion of this project, which is valued at $44 million and will result in the creation of 56 jobs in the next three years.

“SOPREMA is growing strongly in Québec and worldwide. In fact, last September, I was lucky enough to take part in the launch of construction work on the company’s first plant in China. The inauguration of this new plant in Québec will have positive economic spinoffs, as well as making Québec’s expertise better known internationally,” said Jacques Daoust.

Founded in 1908 in Strasbourg, France, SOPREMA specializes in manufacturing waterproofing, green roofing, insulation and soundproofing products for the construction and civil engineering sectors. Its North American head office and research centre are located in Drummondville. The company’s new plant, the first of its kind in North America, will manufacture polyisocyanurate insulation boards for roofing.

“The construction of this plant is excellent news for the growth and vitality of Drummondville and the Centre du Québec region. SOPREMA is a major partner in the region’s technical textiles niche of excellence and is helping to raise our region’s profile as an international leader in this leading-edge industry. We’re very happy to contribute to SOPREMA’s success in Québec,” concluded Laurent Lessard.
