In its September 2017 edition dedicated to the best locations in Canada, U.S. magazine Site Selection named Investissement Québec one of the top three economic development agencies in Canada.
Citing the recent opening of Zodiac Aerospace, which is expected to create 400 full-time jobs, and significant investments by ArcelorMittal, GE Aviation and Raufoss Canada, the prestigious publication pays tribute to Investissement Québec’s prospecting work. Site Selection also mentions Québec’s low corporate tax rate and Montréal’s cosmopolitan make-up as factors of success.
“Every day, with support from a team of experts in Québec, our professionals at 12 offices across the globe promote Québec’s competitive advantages. Their work with foreign companies attracts investments that translate into jobs and gains for our economy, and I am very proud to see our work recognized by the trade magazine Site Selection,” said Éric Dequenne, Investissement Québec’s Vice-President of International Affairs.
Investissement Québec had a record year in 2016-2017, drawing 65 foreign investment projects to the province. Valued at $1.5 billion, those investments will help create or preserve 4,090 jobs in Québec.
