“Today’s announcement reflects our commitment to adapt our facilities to changes in market demand and acquire the flexibility we need to remain the industry leader in Québec. This increase in production capacity will allow us to meet our customers’ needs and help open up new markets in Canada and the U.S.,” said Emmanuelle Toussaint, Vice President, Legal and Public Affairs for Nova Bus and Prevost.

At its Saint-François-du-Lac facility, Nova Bus manufactures bus chassis and installs floors. The structures are then sent to the company’s plants in Saint-Eustache or Plattsburgh, New York for assembly and finishing. Ultimately, the expansion announced today is expected to create over 200 jobs. The Saint-François-du-Lac plant will recruit 85 people to increase chassis production from five to seven a day, while the Saint-Eustache facility will take on an additional 125 employees to boost production from two to three buses a day.
