Swiss company ABB continues to grow in Québec City

A leader in energy and automation technology, ABB has decided to build new facilities in the Espace d’innovation Michelet in Québec City, a $20-million project. The new, larger building will accommodate its 200 employees and allow ABB to pursue its growth. The subsidiary recruited 40 engineers in the past three years, including 18 this year alone, and will continue hiring engineers, technicians and specialized professionals in the years to come.

The new facilities, to be completed by September 2015, will better meet the company’s growth requirements and the needs of its employees, who were surveyed about their priorities for their work environment. The project also incorporates a series of measures aimed at sustainable development, in particular charging stations for electric cars and efficient energy management.

ABB Group has operations in over 100 countries and employs about 145,000 people, including 5,000 in Canada. Its Québec city subsidiary is dedicated to the manufacture and the research and development of analytical and level measurement instruments serving various industrial markets.
