China Shows a Real Interest in Québec Virtual Reality

It’s a well-known fact that success opens doors. At the forefront of several cutting-edge industries, Québec has everything it needs to attract the attention of foreign investors!

Looking to capitalize on that position of strength, Investissement Québec took part in the creativity showcase organized by the Québec government last January 26 to promote Québec’s multimedia and digital entertainment industries.

The showcase, which was held at the Modern Art Museum in Shanghai, gave companies and organizations in Québec’s multimedia and digital entertainment industry a chance to show off their know-how to Chinese businesses and investors.

In addition to business meetings with potential investors, Investissement Québec organized workshops led by three flagship companies in the virtual reality industry. OVA, Vantrix and Minority VR demonstrated their know-how to an audience of influential Chinese stakeholders. The day ended with a well-attended networking activity, also organized by Investissement Québec.

“In a market as vast as China, you have to make a lot of noise to be heard. And that’s what we achieved with this showcase and our seminar. We were able to connect with a large number of Chinese companies and investors. The response from industry professionals was very positive, laying the groundwork for further meetings in the months ahead,” said Lingshi Meng, Investissement Québec’s representative in China.
