Technology Leader Orion Systems Integrators to Set Up in Montréal

During the economic development mission to New York, Sunil Mehta, President and CEO of Orion Systems Integrators Link opening a new window (ORION), made an announcement— attended by Montréal International Link opening a new window and Investissement Québec representatives—that his company will set up an R&D centre in Montréal. ORION, a US provider of IT solutions and software, plans to use the new facility to serve its present and future US and international clients.

According to Sunil Mehta, Montréal provides an ideal location for an R&D centre specializing in advanced application development that will help ORION’s clients maintain a competitive edge. “We’re delighted to expand ORION’s footprint into Montréal. The talent pool in the Montréal area is exceptional and our team is looking forward to providing clients with innovative R&D services,” said Sunil Mehta. “The tremendous support we received from Montréal International, Investissement Québec and the Consulate General of Canada in New York was key in helping us get this project off the ground in a smooth and timely manner.”

The objective of the three-day economic mission was primarily to promote the advantages of Greater Montréal to a broad range of US businesses and organizations.

“We’re very pleased that a multinational like ORION has chosen Québec as the location for its first R&D centre. That choice is due in large part to the great collaboration between the partners and the Investissement Québec international team, which enabled us to showcase Québec’s competitive advantages. With our skilled workforce and attractive tax system, Québec’s in a good position to attract new IT companies,” asserted Mario Albert, President and Chief Executive Officer Investissement Québec.
