France-based Webhelp chooses Montréal to open its first Canadian office

The giant customer service firm wants to create more than a thousand jobs here within the next years

Montréal, October 9, 2020 — Webhelp, which is number one in customer experience in Europe, announces the opening of its new office in Montréal. This is the first Canadian centre for the French company hoping to create more than 1,000 jobs in Québec over the next few years.

Webhelp, world-renowned for its customer service expertise, had a limited presence in North America up until now. The company wants to take advantage of Montréal’s strategic location, and also the fact that it is an inclusive city open to the world, to break through the North American market with more personalized support for its current customers.

“Montréal is the ideal location to help us achieve our goals. In addition to its proximity to the U.S. market, the Montréal area is known for the quality of its tech workers,” explains Jérémie Mani, CEO of Webhelp Canada. “With this new Canadian office, we can highlight both strengths that have helped us make our mark on the industry: our in-depth knowledge of all digital channels and tools, and also the quality of our agents and their training.”

Montréal International, Greater Montréal’s investment promotion agency, has been supporting Webhelp in this major project since 2019. “French companies have a prominent place in Greater Montréal’s business community and year after year, these bonds grow stronger,” states Stéphane Paquet, President and CEO of Montréal International. “Despite the pandemic, to date, we have supported nine French companies in setting up or expanding in Greater Montréal. We’re talking about over $400 million in investment. It’s quite significant considering the city’s economic recovery.”

“The advantages of doing business in Québec for French companies have been known for a long time,” said Hubert Bolduc, President of Investissement Québec International. “Beyond language, the Montréal ecosystem will undeniably give Jérémie Mani and his team all the tools they need to achieve their ambitious objectives. Since the very beginning, our team has been working in collaboration with that of Montréal International and, as with many other projects, we will be there to accompany Webhelp in this important investment in Québec.”

As of its arrival in Montréal, Webhelp committed to get involved in the local business community. That’s why the company has teamed up with Rézoway for its offices and has become the key partner for the major annual customer service conference organized by LesAffaires.com. The event will be held on November 25, 2020. Jérémie Mani will be at the conference to present Webhelp’s successful model of setting up in Québec, alongside one of its customers.
