FLO | AddEnergie: Québec charging stations from New York to Los Angeles

Eco-responsibility is about making the right decisions to be more productive, more innovative and greener. It means wanting to be a part of a global economy that is both responsible and sustainable, and at the same time, sharpens your competitive edge in your own sector. Québec companies are integrating clean technologies in order to contribute to a thriving, innovative, inclusive and open economy. One of these exceptional leaders is FLO | AddEnergie Open a new window.

While studying electrical engineering at the University of Laval, Louis Tremblay, the mind behind FLO | AddEnergie, envisioned a company that would be capable of making a difference in the fight against climate change, a value that remains at the core of his company today. In fact, FLO | AddEnergie unwaveringly adheres to its sustainable development initiatives, which form a fundamental pillar for Louis Tremblay and his team.

With North America’s vehicle fleets in a constant state of evolution, Mr. Tremblay recognized the full potential of charging units designed for electric and hybrid cars. Over the past 13 years, the growth of the
eco-responsible vehicle market has been remarkable, to say the least, and is clearly reflected in the company's increased activities.

What began as a tiny startup team installing its first terminals quickly evolved into a business with a well-stocked order book. The company now offers customers a complete and integrated offer. Today, the company is both a charging network operator (the FLO network), a builder of its own terminals, and a developer of the software that enables the operation of both the terminals and the charging network. It is a truly comprehensive technological solution that is a source of great pride for the team. “With the technological innovations, we now feel that there is an alignment from an economic and technological standpoint. Yes, it’s possible for eco-focused businesses to achieve a level of success, but that must include economic success. It’s possible to reconcile the two and to achieve both your environmental and business objectives,” says Louis Tremblay, President and CEO of FLO | AddEnergy.

Being situated in Québec makes things easier as 99% of the electricity is produced from clean and renewable sources. Mr. Tremblay also underlines the Québec Government's commitment to the electrification of transportation in the province. As a result of all of the above, FLO | AddEnergie technology is now being exported across North America, from Sherbrooke to Los Angeles, and to the bustling streets of New York City.
