Solotech has grown out of pure passion for its craft over the past 35 years. Founded in 1977, it has become a leader in advanced technology integration for the entertainment industry at home and around the globe. A Québec-based company with state-of-the-art know-how, it has contributed to the success of major international, Canadian and Québec events, productions and shows, such as those of Céline Dion, Bruce Springsteen, Britney Spears, Michael Bublé, Leonard Cohen, Justin Timberlake and the Cirque du Soleil, not the mention the Sochi Olympics.
Solotech is more than the sum of its parts: its 650 permanent employees have worked together to build the company’s unparalleled expertise in the creation of stage, visual effects, lighting and sound solutions as well as in multimedia equipment rentals. “Our employees are critical: without their talent and creativity, we wouldn’t have achieved the global success we enjoy today. We’re privileged to have such a skilled and dedicated team: they’ve made Solotech a flagship of the Québec economy,” said Jean-François Lacroix, the company’s Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer.
Québec is home to a wealth of talent, and that is especially true in the entertainment industry and multimedia sector. With its superb mastery of its environment and its strategic partners, Solotech has managed to push the limits of innovation by enhancing its service offering. “We wanted to provide our clients—who are mainly producers, event organizers, and artist and business managers—with an inclusive service; we wanted to take care of the entire production of the major events we work on. So we set up 4U2C, a brand-new entity based on a partnership between Solotech and Cirque du Soleil. The new entity will allow us to create visual content for productions together and to provide a completely integrated service that’s the first of its kind in our sector,” asserted François Ménard, President and Chief Executive Officer.
New financial partners are coming on board, including Investissement Québec, Desjardins Venture Capital and Claridge, so Solotech will be able to expand its financial capacity and carry out its most ambitious projects. With this support, the company will strengthen its leadership position in the global, national and local entertainment industry.
